Final submission

https://youtu.be/dPz25NPQ5_o

From the first film I revised we changed the plot completely. Kayden and I struggled to continue the robbers for no reason and turn it into a movie more could relate to. We kept the same idea of robbing but for the purpose of getting money for college tuition.

CCR 4

For this project a number of online technologies were used such as blogger, i-movie and adobe. Kayden and I had to switch editing software's a couples times throughout the project just because it did not work for us at home but we ended up using i-movie in the end to put everything together. We used blogger along with everyone else to keep track of how we put the project together and just as a base line for the entire project.

CCR 3

Throughout this project my production skills have developed by becoming a better editor, better leader in communicating what should be done throughout the scenes and script writing. In the project I took on multiple roles seeing as there was only two people in the group. I was the producer and editor of this film. The first time the editing was lacking audio, mismatched scenes, no opening nor credits and drop off scenes. The second time recording I provided an opening and closing of the movie. As well as making sure the scenes added up and made sense in the order they were in. I also made sure the audio did not cut off or drag on into other scenes making the audio sounds collide.

CCR 2

This project engages with high school and college students. Kids will relate to having to pay for college and how expensive it is. This will attract the younger or older group of people because of the relation it will appeal. Kayden and I have decided we would talk to a company who starts in small films to get and sign to get "The Set Up" into theaters. We also have a plan to to distribute our film through a couple different social media platforms and online movie services such as Netflix, Hulu, HBO etc. Movies submitted to the Sarasota film festival are viewed and the winner gets their movie in theaters for three weeks.

CCR 1

The movie Kayden and I made called "The Set Up" used a number of conventions; such as cameras, phones, editing software and actors. We ran into a couple problems through making the movie. We at first had creative disagreements about how to make the movie and what equipment should be used to do so. The first time recording we had a group member Rico and he was not seeing eye to eye on what me and Kayden did. Our first time recording certain shots were a little shaky and the audio levels were off as well. The second time around we recorded with our phones and had a whole new set up. We made a whole new plot along with new scenes. The second time around the audio levels were a lot more smooth and the camera quality was less shaky with more time added onto it. This new idea of a college kid having to rob a house to have enough money for college represents how some kids don't have enough money to go to college.

revised

We also made our movie longer. We needed to add 20 seconds to our film, which we did. With almost the same plot and script.

revised

We also adjusted the sound levels of our movie. In the previous movie our audio levels we shaky. As well as certain parts of the video audio cutting off in scenes.

revised

Throughout making our new film we have made revisions based on what has been said in our previous film. We have a better quality film. In the previous film the quality was a little blurry and shaky in certain parts.

Distribution Plan

For my film we are hoping to attract people who enjoy comedies and distribute our movie The Set Up to different streaming companies and movie theaters. We would try to distribute our movie in the movie theater, on demand at home, streaming devices such as Netflix, Hulu and more. We could buy spots in magazines and on TV to commercialize our movie.

Distribution and research Q 3

We are changing the tone of the movie going into a comedy genre. Spy who dumped me is another film that has bad guys and spying yet also funny in the way it was presented. This movie was commercialized and posted o social medias to promote it. We will distribute our movie in the same ways.

Distribution and Research Q 3

Dead pool is a target audience we are looking for. We are trying to change the course of the movie with a different tone going into comedy. This product was commercialized a ton and posters everywhere.

post marketing plan

For our post marketing plan after the our film goes to the theaters we plan to distribute our movie all over. We plan on making a deal with Netflix and Hulu along with other popular TV and movie streaming companies. As well as making this available in the Apple Store for movie to purchase. Our movie would be available in a lot of ways to watch. We will advertise this plan on social media platforms such as: instagram, snapchat, twitter and facebook.

Distribution and Research 3 Q

The traditional distribution for a film would be movie theaters, streaming and other ways to view the film. I would model my new film in social media, commercializing and posters.

target audience 3

I would say this film is directed towards a more older group such as 13 and up. Just alike the movie the Titanic. Titanic is a film that has a lot of action as well as drama. Such as my film has a lot of action throughout the film with running in the house robbing. They marketed the Titanic with commercials. I would market my product by commercial and social media.

Revisons

We have watched our video and have came up with with multiple revisions, as well as things to make our film better. We are going to re-shoot the majority of the film. We have to re shoot some of the film for the reasons of the shot not being shaky, the sound cut out in some of the film and also we need about 10 more seconds to add to the film. We also need to add to the beginning and the end of the film the credits. In the film coming up we are revising, we are going to put a new twist on the film. The film we are adding to will have a twist, we are adding a funny spin of the film. The film will now be about three high school students who will not be able to afford college. So they get together a plan to rob this rich house for some money for their college tuition.

target audience 2

My target audience is not recommended for children just like the movie Ocean 11. These two films favor each other in a crime and action related way. Ocean 11 is not a film for younger children as we do not want to teach or let children have any idea of robbery. Ocean 11 marketed their product by commercializing it on TV.

Target Audience Research 1

In my movie my target audience would be people who like action and crime related films. A movie similar to this would be Ocean 8. These two films are alike because they both are action packed and are about robbery. They marketed Ocean 8 film by commercializing is everywhere on TV. When it was advertised it was based off the original Ocean 11 film made with all boys but now this film with all girls. The aspects I would use is probably one of the most popular with TV commercials and social media.

Feedback

While my classmates viewed my film there were numerous comments good and bad. The most common negative criticism were to keep the camera steady, the dialogue dropped in a few parts of the movie and to add credits. The positive comments made where that the actors were funny, good lighting and clear footage never blurry. We will take our feedback into consideration and revise the following problems with the film to improve.

Use of conventions

The movie my group made The Set Up applied to issues around the world with the problem of robbing or stealing. We made a funny twist of stealing but also made it known that robbing or stealing isn't a good thing to do. In this film we did our best to incorporate on how a robbery would go. Our target audience was people who liked action and comedy.
